Introduction

Recombinant RFP, also known as Recombinant Red Fluorescent Protein, is a protein produced by the Discoso-masp that produces bioluminescence in the red zone of the noticeable spectrum. Red Fluorescent Protein is a useful and ubiquitous instrument for producing chimeric proteins, where it functions as a fluorescent protein tag. RFP is expressed in most known cell types and is used as a noninvasive fluorescent marker in living cells and organisms. Red Fluorescent Protein permits a broad range of applications where it has functioned as a cell lineage tracer, reporter of gene expression, or as a measure of protein-protein interactions.

Description

Recombinant RFP produced in E.coli cells is a non-glycosylated, homotetramer protein containing 234 amino acid chain. Recombinant RFP is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. The Recombinant RFP is a protein that exhibit bright red fluorescence when exposed to red light. It possesses bright red fluorescence (excitation/ emission max = 558 / 583 nm).

Solubility : It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Recombinant RFP in sterile distilled H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions
